Salary: £39,000 £43,000 per annum (negotiated on experience)

A chartered consultancy in Chesterfield are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or a Quantity Surveyor to join their team. They operate on both the consultancy and contractor side, our client offers Quantity Surveying support services to the some of the UK s leading construction companies. They build long term relationships with clients and are successful and growing. Civil Government
Ministry Of Defence, Ministry Of Justice – anything from runways to modular buildings to gymnasiums to domestic / commercial barrack refurbishments
They also work on office refurbishments, prison works, civil/ utilities
This successful company operates across 3 offices in the UK.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor
– Be able to work in a team of Quantity Surveyors alongside Project Manager
Undertake and manage a range of pre and post contract quantity surveying duties such as:
Cost Planning & Estimating
BOQ Production
Feasibility Studies
Tender and contract documentation production
Pre and Post Contract management
Contract management and assist in any claims that arise.
Management of contractors on site ensuring works are undergone efficiently.
Sub-Contract Payments
Client Valuations
Monthly Reporting
Final Account Agreements
Desired Skills and Experience
– Experience as an Entry Level or Assistant Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor or consultancy
– Excellent communication skills & good presentation and client skills
– Good IT skills particularly Excel
– Knowledge of Construction Contracts JCT/NEC etc
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
Degree qualified
Willingness to undergo APC or be on route / chartered already.
