We are seeking a Building Surveyor responsible for delivering high-quality services across private, education, and local authority sectors. This role involves early-stage design, feasibility work, and acting as Project Manager on various capital projects.
Day-to-day of the role:
Responsible for early-stage design and feasibility work alongside clients.
Develop detailed briefs in conjunction with clients and carry out detailed design work.
Prepare production information and administer building contracts.
Act as ‘Lead Discipline’ on programmed capital projects.
Undertake professional surveying work including surveys, Party Wall (PW) work, dilapidations, Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) & Fire Risk Assessments (FRA’s).
Conduct inspections to resolve building defects, assign contractors, and manage the works effectively.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
BSc in Building Surveying or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience within a Building Surveying environment.
Proven experience in delivering building and construction projects from inception to completion, valued up to £5M.
Demonstrable experience in the preparation of specifications and tender documents.
Strong background in Building Surveying, Project Management, and Property Asset Management surveys.
Proficiency in AutoCAD.
Skilled in managing project budgets and procurement related to building works through competitive tendering.
Advanced ICT skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent relationship-building, communication, and customer service skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of current legislation such as Health & Safety, CDM, and Building Regulations.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
