A lot of graduate surveyors spend their first two years on one kind of job. This is the other option: a Lancashire consultancy where you’ll see condition surveys, defect investigations, design, contract administration and procurement in the same year, working in a team that has time to explain why things are done the way they are.
You’ll be given real responsibility early, with experienced surveyors beside you, and a clear route towards chartership.
The work
Support condition surveys and defect investigations, from site visit to written report
Prepare drawings, specifications and schedules of work with design colleagues
Help put together tender documentation and review tender returns
Learn contract administration on live projects: valuations, variations, certificates and final accounts
Attend site and client meetings, take notes and follow up actions
Carry out site inspections and record progress, quality and compliance
Build your own small caseload as your confidence grows
Keep a record of your experience and work towards your APC submission
You
A building surveying or related degree (must be RICS-accredited)
Curious, organised and happy to ask questions
Confident writing reports and speaking to clients and contractors
Keen to work towards MRICS
Full driving licence for site visits

Competitive salary DOE ( 30,000 – 40,000)
