Building Surveyor for a Large Charity with an Interesting Portfolio!
Your new company This charity is a social enterprise responsible for developing and managing a significant part of London’s South Bank. They have transformed a largely derelict area into a thriving place for people to live, work and visit. Their 13-acre estate includes: • the iconic Oxo Tower Wharf, home to designer-maker studios, exhibition and gallery spaces • a successful conference centre • cafés, bars and restaurants • parks and the riverside walkway • award-winning co-operative housing • an Ofsted Outstanding family and children’s centre providing a nursery and family support As a social enterprise income they generate stays in the neighbourhood. It’s used to improve and maintain their site which includes Bernie Spain Gardens and the riverside walkway, and to provide a range of free and affordable programmes and activities for families, children, young people, adults and older people in Waterloo and North Southwark. Your new role The Building Surveyor ensures our properties are properly maintained and that the organisation is properly advised on property and building matters. The role ensures that financial decisions on property and building matters are informed and that any risks are anticipated and controlled. The post-holder works closely with teams across the organisation as well as external consultants to manage projects and ensure matters are dealt with efficiently and proactively. The property is managed on behalf of our three organisations. What you’ll need to succeed Ideally, MRICS or MCIOB Experience of surveying the environment in commercial and in housing maintenance Experience of managing a multi-use portfolio of housing or building stock Experience of working with computer aided facilities’ management systems and their reporting functions as well as experience of using FM asset management systems What you’ll get in return Annual Holiday- 27 days of leave per year excluding bank holidays. Pension Scheme – They will contribute 5% to your pension if you contribute at least 3%.
