Building Surveyor – Overseeing housing disrepair and major repair projects in Oxford
Your new company As a skilled Building Surveyor you will join a large public sector organisation based in the Oxfordshire region – a forward-thinking, progressive property landlord who are responsible for the management, maintenance and continuous development of thousands of affordable and social homes across the region.
Your new role You will use your technical building surveying skills to help manage the resolution of complex repair and disrepair issues across the housing portfolio. This will involve visiting effected properties in order to diagnose the initial issue, creating a schedule of work and specifications, and engaging contractors to manage the resolution, ensuring that quality, health & safety and budget targets are achieved.
What you’ll need to succeed In order to succeed in this position, it would be preferable to have worked in a Building Surveyor, Repairs Surveyor, Maintenance Surveyor or Technical Surveyor position previously, at a senior level or in a role which has involved overseeing major repair or disrepair issues. You’ll need to have a HNC, HND or equivalent in construction, building surveying or a similar subject.
What you’ll get in return In return you will receive an initial contract with a minimum duration of six months, although this is highly likely to be extended to nine or twelve months. A competitive hourly rate of pay is available, paid to you on a weekly basis.
