Reed Public Sector Hub is actively recruiting for an interim Head of Housing Property Services for a Local Authority in South-East.

Main Purpose of the Job:

To be responsible for the Council’s Housing Property Service, ensuring that the service has a strategic focus, consistently meets its business plan and financial objectives and targets and places excellent customer service at the heart of its delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, plan, co-ordinate and secure the effective delivery of all capital, planned and cyclical works in accordance with agreed priorities.
• Provide effective, leadership, management and direction for all staff within the service ensuring compliance with the Council’s Contracts Procedure Rules, Standing Orders, Procurement and Financial Regulations.
• Ensure effective reporting, monitoring and review mechanisms are in place and that procedures and projects are well developed, prioritised, managed and evaluated.
• Ensure the effective delivery of in house services, having overall responsibility for work practices, systems, processes, procedures, team development and quality of service.

Qualifications

1. MRICS or CIOB Chartered Building Surveyor, Registered Architect.
2. Evidence of continuous professional development
3. Knowledge of up to date relevant legislation and regulatory requirements pertinent to the operation of a Building Maintenance Service

Experience

• Experience at senior management level within the construction sector.
• Demonstrable management experience of both Professional teams and Trade teams over multiple disciplines covering both Internal and external works providing staff with supervision and direction.
• Experience of problem solving and prioritising work in a pressurised work environment.
• Experience of corporate processes in local government.
• Proven experience of project management.
