We are currently recruiting for a Head of Property Services (Within Housing) in Reading on a 6 month contracting basis.
You will need to have experience in Strategic Asset Management working either for a Social Housing landlord or Local Authority.
The role will be hybrid and consist of 2 to 3 days per week on site dependant on business needs.
Main Purpose of the Job:To be responsible for the Council’s Housing Property Service, ensuring that the service has a strategic focus, consistently meets its business plan and financial objectives and targets and places excellent customer service at the heart of its delivery.
To client the delivery of the Housing Reactive and Planned Maintenance work programme to the Council’s Housing Stock as delivered by Housing Direct Services and Corporate Property Services.
In acting as ‘Client’ taking full responsibility for performance monitoring and quality assuring the standard of work as delivered by Housing Direct Services and Corporate Property Services
To take a lead role in the development of the Housing Asset Management Strategy and the associated Asset Management Plan.
Ø To be responsible for the delivery of planned programmes of work to the Council’s Housing Stock and Adult Social Care portfolio of properties; dealing with all aspects of the service in accordance with council policy, procedures, financial regulations, and relevant legislation with a particular focus on Health and Safety.
To be responsible for the delivery of the Disabled Facilities work programme including minor and major adaptations to the Housing Stock and minor works programmes as directed by the Private Sector Housing Team, Adult Social Care and Brighter Futures for Children
Experience required,1. Experience at senior management level within the construction sector.2. Demonstrable management experience of both Professional teams and Trade teams over multiple disciplines covering both Internal and external works providing staff with supervision and direction.3. Experience of problem solving and prioritising work in a pressurised work environment.4. Proven experience of project management.5. Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of legislation relevant to this post e.g. H & S at Work, CDM, Party Wall Act etc.6. MRICS or CIOB Chartered Building Surveyor, Registered Architect.7. Evidence of continuous professional development8. Knowledge of up-to-date relevant legislation and regulatory requirements pertinent to the operation of a Building Maintenance ServiceDay rate £600 per day umbrella inside of IR35. Please contact Mel
