Girling Jones are delighted to be working in direct partnership with construction and property management company to procure a Project Manager for their experienced and reputable team

The Company

The management company own a unique listed development in Plymouth, proud of its heritage and driven to ensure its ongoing restoration and maintenance is completed to the highest of standards.

In truth, the building has reached an age where many of the components of the conversion are requiring repair or renewal and subsequently, need to employ a Project Manager to oversee the programme of works in line with this

What are we looking for?

Ideally, this Project Manager role would be best suited to somebody with first hand experience of dealing with similar properties and developments – listed buildings, heritage sites, sea defence works. Key Duties will include but not be limited to:

Develop an understanding of the structure, construction and issues relating to maintenance and repair of the building
To be responsible for designing and specifying improvement and repair projects
To establish and supervise a work programme to be executed by the in-house team for contractors as appropriate
To be the line manager for the employed maintenance staff and to report to the DirectorThe job would be best suited to an adaptable Project Manager who could communicate on all levels across the existing team, the Management Company Directors and any residents who occupy the existing apartments

The ideal candidate will have:

Min 10 years experience either as a Project Manager or Building Surveyor
Construction Related Qualification
Maintainenance, Repair & Restoration experience preferred
Good knowledge of MS Office systemsGiven the nature of the project, a genuine interest in coastal construction, tides and sea defence would be advantageous
