JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Overseeing the structural QS projects in the business
Sound contractual knowledge (particularly JCT and NEC)
Experience in preparing and analysing monthly valuations and applications
Ability to liaise with project teams to monitor costs and identify issues early
Managing variations, including submission and negotiation with clients
Preparation of progress reports and updates
Ensuring all applications are aligned with client/project payment schedules
Conducting feasibility studies and cost planning
Streamis software training will be provided
Preparing tender packages, contracts, and bills of quantities
Managing risk, value engineering, and cost control
Evaluation of repair/maintenance strategies and associated costs
Contract negotiation and schedule alignment
Overseeing and valuing subcontractor payments
Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards
Providing budget and performance reports
Offering advice on claims, disputes, and contractual matters
Experience working on computers and associated software
Contract Values range form £200 – £2M
SKILLS & QUALIFITCATIONS
BSC in Quantity Surveying
At least 5 years experience in a construction SME
RICS advantage but not essential
A strong background in steelwork would be a major advantage, though we re open to candidates from other building trades
SALARY & BENEFITS
£36K – £45K
Hours / 4 or 5 Days per week
