Revolution Projects is a small and innovative consultancy delivering complex high-value projects across the UK in a variety of sectors. Revolution is working in partnership with a large chemical manufacture in the North West. Due to growth, we are now seeking to recruit an ambitious Junior Cost Engineer/ Quantity Surveyor, or equivalent accountancy/contract experience within an engineering environment.
The Individual
This role will suit Cost Engineers/ Quantity Surveyors with a strong track record supporting large multi-disciplined CAPEX projects. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, a team player, self-driven and experience in making decisions and presenting findings back to the client. The role will work with and report to an existing Quantity Surveyor.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
Provide support and input to the development of the Project Control Planning formulating the Project Financial Baseline
Accountable for day-to-day collection of all project costs / financial information
Analysing and timely reporting to the QS on project financial data such as spend profiles, forecasts, completion costs, cash flow forecasts, etc.
Support the QS with the execution of the cost management process
Responsible for collation and management of all project variances, analysis reviewed with the QS
Collaborate with Project Managers and other Project related personnel to ensure that all on-site cost information is collated.
Prepare independent risk analysis of costs and mitigating strategies for the QS
Key Proficiencies and Previous Experience
Contract Administration – Standard and bespoke building contracts
Experience within cost and commercial aspects of infrastructure and construction programmes
Experience in conceptual cost planning, estimating, financial accounting, expenditure profiling, cost reporting and forecasting costs.
Able to effectively monitor and analyse cost, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions utilising relevant programmes.
Experience in report writing and compilation of data metrics skills.
Able to communicate effectively at all levels, both on-site and within the office environment
Highly organised, methodical and process driven.
Advantage if hold RICS or equivalent certification
Individual must reside in the UK
The Opportunity
Part Time, 25 hours per week, core hours between 10am-2pm.
Permanent, 3-month probation
Starting salary £33,000 pro rata (dependent upon experience)
