Quantity Surveyor – Civil Engineering

We are searching for a Quantity Surveyor for a market-leading Groundwork & General Civil Engineering contractor to carry out surveying duties on a range of projects, including general civil engineering and groundworks for apartments, hotels, and commercial, industrial and mixed-use developments.

The role will include developing close inter-relations with Clients and Subcontractors and maintaining profitable contracts. It is a key appointment for the business and underpins the continued growth aspirations of the Business Unit.

Reports directly to the Commercial Director. The role boasts future progression, a competitive salary & all expenses paid travel opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attending tender handover meetings on secured projects and taking responsibility for all relevant cost information.
• Form contract budgets from tender information calculating total profit/loss forecasts.
• Carry out monthly budget monitoring.
• Providing interim cost and value reconciliation, and monitoring cash flows for projects on Oracle.
• Preparation and agreement of interim Applications for Payment and Final Accounts, all aspects of measurement
• Preparation and compilation of subcontract documentation with appropriate orders.
• Implement subcontract payment controls, variations, materials, contra charges, and claims.
• Record keeping of site progress, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
• Liaise and coordinate with all business unit departments to improve all levels of communication to benefit and develop the companies’ objectives.

Experience And Qualifications

• Quantity Surveyor experience within the Groundwork sector.
• Experience in managing commercial procedures i.e. cost reporting.
• Able to demonstrate alignment and work in line with the company values
