Registered Building Inspector

We’re seeking a Building Control Surveyor (Registered Building Inspector) to deliver plan checking and site inspection services in line with building regulations across domestic and/or commercial projects.

• Competitive rate: 60- 65 per hour, depending on experience

• Initial contract duration: 12 months

• Flexible working: full-time or part-time options available

• Minimum requirement: RBI 2D (or expected qualification in the near future)

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Assessing building regulation applications for compliance, including full plans, building notices, and regularisation applications

• Carrying out site inspections at key stages of construction to monitor compliance with approved plans and regulations

• Liaising with clients, architects, builders, and other professionals to provide clear guidance and technical advice

• Maintaining accurate and detailed records of site visits and communications in accordance with statutory requirements

• Issuing decision notices including approvals, conditional approvals, or rejections with clear reasons

• Identifying and resolving non-compliance issues, including the preparation and issuing of enforcement notices where necessary

• Keeping up to date with changes in legislation, technical standards, and industry best practice

• Representing the local authority or approved inspector service in meetings and public consultations when required
