Job Overview:

As a key contributor, you will be an integral part of the Trust’s mission to manage and deliver innovative construction projects that enhance healthcare infrastructure.

As a P3O Senior Project Manager, you will:

• Strategic Leadership: Support the Head of Projects (P3O Portfolio Manager) in managing and delivering the Estates Program of Works. Embrace autonomy in the professional management and delivery of RBHT Estates Capital and Revenue construction projects.
• Dynamic Collaboration: Advise and consult with stakeholders, clinical management teams, and other stakeholders across all levels within the Trust. Engage daily with Quantity Surveyors, Consultants, Contractors, and Specialist Contractors.
• Operational Excellence: Operate within a Portfolio, Programme, and Project Management (P3M) office using Managing Successful Programmes and PRINCE2 project methodology.
• Project Management Mastery: Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for managing a range of capital construction schemes, overseeing feasibility, procurement, completion on-site, and relevant defects periods. Projects will range from 25k to 5m in value.
• Strategic Oversight: Assist the Head of Projects in shaping the overall Estates Capital Works programme, ensuring compliance with RBHT and department governance. Monitors spend and procurement across multiple projects against key delivery targets.
• Technical Expertise: Provide professional specialist expertise for all capital developments. Participate in the implementation of P3O procedures and systems, contributing to PMO and Brand Manual development.
• Safety and Compliance: Manage and monitor CDM2015 and all aspects of project Health and Safety. Ensure effective liaison with senior members of Trust Directorates to align the capital program with overall Trust objectives.
• Performance Metrics: Provide indicators highlighting the performance of the Trust’s Estates and Facilities capital programme against national and local standards.
• Mentorship and Management: Assist, where necessary, with the management and mentorship of the Estates PM Team. Provide professional, efficient, customer-focused, and cost-effective services.
• Continuous Excellence: Ensure the development, maintenance, and dissemination of the highest professional standards in construction practice. Actively participate in internal and external CPD training and development programs.
• Flexibility Extraordinaire: Demonstrate flexibility by assisting/covering other Estates managers when directed by the Head of Estates Development.
• Design Dynamo: Generate specifications, schedules, and drawings adhering to industry legislation, good practice (HTM / HTB / HBN) for lower-value projects.

Person Specification:

• Qualified to Degree level in a relevant Building Construction qualification or equivalent, or possession of equivalent experience in an Estates Management environment.
• Management of Successful Programme (MSP) in a related Building Services Engineering or Construction environment.
• PRINCE2 accreditation.
• Specialism in P3O with appropriate knowledge.
• Excellent people skills and the drive to ensure that Trust Values are always followed.
