Surveyor/Estimator required for property services division within a Gloucestershire based construction company.
The company delivering high-quality insurance loss repair and reinstatement works. Respond to a wide range of incidents including fire, flood, escape of water, lightning strikes, and building defects.
Working across domestic properties, multiple occupancy residential blocks, schools, industrial units, and commercial buildings, managing both tendered and negotiated projects valued between 10,000 and 500,000. Also deliver measured term and schedule of rates projects ranging from 20,000 to 100,000.
The Role
You will play a key role in the delivery of building repair and reinstatement projects, from initial survey and estimation through to tender preparation and successful project handover.
Responsibilities
Conduct detailed site surveys to assess damage and define the scope of required reinstatement works
Prepare accurate estimates and cost plans for insurance repairs and general building projects
Work closely with clients, loss adjusters, insurance companies, and project teams
Produce and review tender documents and negotiate contracts
Ensure compliance with health and safety and statutory requirements
Monitor project progress and provide support to site teams as necessary
Maintain strong commercial control to ensure projects are delivered within budget
Requirements
Proven experience in surveying and estimating within the insurance or construction sectors
Knowledge of building construction and insurance reinstatement processes
Familiarity with JCT contracts and measured term/schedule of rates projects
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Strong IT skills
Full UK driving licence
