Your new company
We’re pleased to be working with an organisation in Cambridge to recruit a Building Surveyor to join their team in Cambridge. You’ll be joining a multidisciplinary team of Surveyors, Engineers and Project Managers who cover the full range of building surveying services for a diverse property portfolio from a mix of listed buildings through to state-of the art research facilities.

Your new role
As the Building Surveyor, you will work closely and collaboratively with the in-house projects and sustainability teams to deliver on a series of projects and ambitious carbon emissions reduction targets. You will undertake professional building surveying services including building pathology, design, specifying and managing remedials within occupied buildings, condition surveys, insurance claims and dilapidations.

What you’ll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will be educated to at least degree or equivalent level in building surveying or a construction-based discipline. You will have a proven track record of successful delivery of maintenance and minor works projects and either have, or be working towards, professional accreditation. You will also have excellent numeracy skills, organisational, CAD and communication skills as well as knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.

What you’ll get in return
As a Building Surveyor you will receive a rate of up to £33 per hour, 25 days’ holiday and a contract that is expected to last for up to 6 months. The team will be recruiting for the role on a permanent basis in a few months’ time, so there should be scope to apply and secure a permanent role if you’re interested and all goes well. The organisation works in an agile manner with some home working and time in the office in Cambridge, where there is free parking and easy access to and from the park and rides.
